10 Things to do when you’re stressed as hell.


We all have shit that we’re going through, life isn’t going to stop for you so get that through your head right away.

Managing your stress is just as crucial to your body as eating right and exercising.  Being too stressed can lead to excessive weight gain, acne, and tension headaches just to name a few of my symptoms. When you’re mind isn’t right is shows so I always make sure to stay as stress and drama free as possible no matter what my life circumstances may be. 

And although a night of wild partying, binge drinking and eating  an entire pizza to yourself seems like a fun solution to the problem (and sometimes that’s just what you need! ) it’s important to do things that will add to your long term stress management plan and not be destructive to your over all wellbeing. 

10. Work Out. I had to say it, I’m a personal trainer. This one is a complete no brainer, positive and productive way to de-stress. 

9.Pedi/Mani. Nails should never be neglected, and if you’re too broke to go get them done do it yourself. The less ugly you are the less stressed you’ll be.

8.Blast that shit. I’m talking about listening to music, LOUDLY. Turn up your speakers and rock out, fuck the neighbors, it’s therapeutic. Try something upbeat and happy, or something soulful and soothing. Stay away from sad or angry songs that just allow you to sulk like a little bitch. 

7.Dance in the Mirror. This one is completely different from number 8- sometimes it’s best to just sit and listen and other times you gotta get freaky with yourself in the mirror. Work on some of those dance moves so next time you go to the club you won’t be looking like a fool.

6.Call your BFF. That’s what friends are for, vent it all out and gossip the night away. It’s  always good to complain to someone, and once you do you end up realizing your life isn’t as terrible as you think it is.

5.Cook some healthy shit. Google a new recipe you’ve always wanted to try and make it. Stay away from salty and sugary stuff even if you’re craving it- you’ll end up teaching your body to eat like shit in order to manage stress- prepare an exotic salad or a salmon fillet something that isn’t covered in icing

4.Get a Massage. Who doesn’t want a complete stranger rubbing your body up and down with floral scented oils? Especially if you’ve been working out a lot. Your muscles get tense and knotty. Find a spa that’s close to home and book a Swedish or a deep tissue just try not to get too aroused on the table okay?

3.Clean. Do some laundry, unclog the kitchen sink, scrape the soap scum out of the shower, all those nasty little chores you avoid doing. Just get it fucking over with so that you can finally have company at your place again.

2.Do Something! Work on your scrap book. Re-arrange your bedroom. Learn a new language. Try something new. Get started with all the stuff you want to start but keep putting off.  The feeling of accomplishment is a great remedy for being out of your fucking mind.

1.Do Nothing! My absolute favorite stress relief. Throw on your oversized sweats, turn on the TV, flip through one of those horrible gossip magazines, let your mind wander to a place it’s never been before. You gotta stop and enjoy life in the moment, smell the roses or it’ll pass you by and you’ll just end up dying a fatass, stressed out mess.
